Meet Shelley, our talented Account Manager who keeps things running smoothly in a cool, calm, and collected manner. Based in Boston, MA, Shelley has a passion for exploring the world and spends her free time either in the pilates studio or enjoying the great outdoors. When the workday ends, you’ll likely find her unwinding with an episode of Grey's Anatomy. Learn more about her in this spotlight interview!

Where were you born, and where do you live now?

I was born in Queens, NY and now live in Boston, MA.

What are your favorite ways to spend your free time outside of work?

I enjoy an active lifestyle. It is a great way to take a break from work and focus on self-care.

I rotate between different workouts and activities like pilates, indoor climbing, runs, and hikes.

On weekends and when it is weather-dependent, I love camping outdoors and enjoying what nature has to offer.

Which one of Aimtal’s core values do you resonate with most?

#CollaborateWithIntention

I enjoy partnering with my colleagues and collaborating as a team to discuss new ideas, share knowledge, learn from others, and deliver exceptional work for our clients.

What are you currently binge-watching?

Grey’s Anatomy

Name one marketing mistake many brands make but can easily be avoided.

When there is a lack of consistency across marketing channels – this can be easily avoided if marketing teams are more communicative internally and ensure their strategies are integrated and aligned before going to market or launching new campaigns.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Introverted

Calm

Intentional

You are hosting a dinner party and get to invite 3 famous people (from any time period), who do you choose?

Ali Wong

Eva Chen

Simu Liu

What are your goals for this year?

Entering 2025 in my slow-girl era .

Slowing down, living more intentionally, and taking things day by day.

To avoid stress and burnout, I want to balance work and personal life by taking things day by day, planning ahead (but not too far ahead), and ensuring I show up the best version of myself at work and at home.

I value relationships with my colleagues and family/friends. By slowing things down, I can be more intentional in building these relationships and developing self-growth.

If you had to pick one artist/song to narrate your life from this point on, what would it be?

Perfect Places - Lorde

What is one thing you believe every marketer should know?

Having the ability to pivot. The marketing and advertising industries are constantly changing and evolving. It is important to have the ability to pivot and adapt. Something that worked successfully in the past, may not work or even be relevant in a year from now. This is why it is important and crucial to stay up to date with the industry, otherwise, you will fall behind.

How do you take your coffee?

I rotate between iced lattes and iced matcha lattes. I almost never order or make hot drinks no matter how cold it might be.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I went through multiple types of occupations – teacher, fashion designer, artist.

What is your favorite part about working for Aimtal?

I love working with everyone on our team and enjoy being part of a collaborative environment. I also value that we are a remote-first company and that we have the processes in place to work from anywhere in the world.

What’s your favorite place that you’ve traveled to? Which destinations are at the top of your travel list?

Hawai’i is a special place for me. I love everything about it – the Hawaiian culture, the food, the people, and of course the nature. I’ve been to Maui and Oahu and would love to visit all the other islands.

Other destinations on my travel list include:

British Columbia – I’ve been to Vancouver and Jasper National Park, but would love to explore other areas like Whistler during ski season

South Korea – Seoul and Jeju Island

Costa Rica

Patagonia

Iceland

Name a quote that you live by

“You are your only limit”

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in their marketing career?

Don’t be afraid to share ideas – it can be intimidating for fresh college grads starting their careers or for professionals who switched careers to pursue marketing. Always be willing to speak up, share ideas, and get the conversation started. You never know when your idea can be picked up by leadership or backed by your own team or even be featured in a marketing campaign.
